Dean Dastvar

Dean Dastvar is Of Counsel at Triumph Law, where his practice focuses on technology transactions, AI governance, government contracts, data privacy, cybersecurity, and intellectual property. He brings two decades of in-house, private practice, and federal acquisition experience, including senior legal roles at Maximus, BlueVoyant, Autodesk, and UnitedHealth Group.

Dean serves as outside general counsel to technology startups, negotiating the agreements that carry their revenue, including software licenses, SaaS and cloud agreements, and master services agreements. He also builds enterprise AI governance programs and guides companies through FAR and DFARS requirements and government data rights. Having worked inside technology companies and the federal government, he pairs a business-focused approach with firsthand knowledge of how the technology works.

Dean has taught government contracts law and negotiation at George Mason’s Antonin Scalia Law School and Washington and Lee University School of Law. He earned his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law, his M.B.A. from George Mason University, and his B.A. from the University of Virginia. He is admitted in Maryland, Virginia, and DC, and is a registered patent attorney.
